2002 Blend from Home Ranch Vineyard in Livermore Valley

Price: $40.00    Review Date: 2004-07-26

VineSugar Review:

Wow! This blend of 49% Barbera, 46% Sangiovese, and 5% Cabernet has a lot offer your senses. Awesome aromas of fresh strawberry, blueberry, smoky red cherry, Asian spice and soft oak nuances. Wonderfully complex flavors from the grapes provides layer of intrigue with every sip. The finish is long and full of red berries, firm tannins and a toasty-spice quality. Wonderfully crafted.

For all my whining about Livermore Valley needing to step up their game and making better wine, Steven Kent's wines surely helped put my foot in my mouth. This wine is a prime example of an awesome wine worth every dime ... and from Livermore grapes no less. I hope more wineries come to prove me wrong like Steven Kent has.
