2007 Pinot Noir "Costiera" from Russian River Valley

Price: $42.00    Review Date: 2009-04-30

Highly Recommended

VineSugar Review:

This is a bigger style of California Pinot Noir. Loads of red cherries, rose pedals and cinnamon aromas. Flavors of cherries, oak spice and earthy mineral nuances throughout. The finish is elegant and silky smooth but boasting supple tannins with great depth and spice.

Winemaker Notes

Costiera meaning "coastal," represents our quest to find the finest vineyard lots in the Sonoma Coast. This Pinot Noir is blended from two such vineyards the famed "Peter's Vineyard" and the sought after "Widdoes Vineyard" both near the town of Sebastopol in the cool Russian River Valley. While these vineyards are planted to low vigor rootstalks, meticulous farming ensures vine balance and keeps yields below 2 tons per acre.
